About 52 students from Starehe Girls' have been isolated from their peers after suffering from an unknown disease.
In a statement seen by Pulselive.co.ke, Starehe Girls' administration said that samples have been taken from the students who had high-pitched cough and fever.
"The Starehe Girls' community confirms that there has been an increasing number of cases presenting with an unknown cause of high pitched cough, sneezing and low-grade fever among students," the statement read in part.
"52 girls have since been isolated for observation within the school and samples obtained for further tests," it continued.
The learning institution informed parents, guardians and stakeholders, that they were working with the Health Ministry and the department of Integrated Disease Surveillance Response (IDRS) to establish the cause of the strange disease.
