Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has said the Tanga Tanga movement will launch a new campaign to bring back exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna back to the country.
Tanga Tanga in new campaign to bring Miguna Miguna back to Kenya
Sudi sends new message to DCI
Sudi spoke outside a Nairobi court where State House Digital Affairs Director was arraigned in court over allegations of authoring a fake letter detailing an assassination plan against Deputy President William Ruto.
The outspoken MP said the case against Itumbi was similar to the one against Miguna – saying the two were victims of political harassment.
“This case is not any different from how they were harassing Miguna Miguna. After Itumbi’s release, we will start a campaign to bring back Miguna Miguna. These tactics will now work because we are no longer in the Kanu era”.
“You have threatened us, saying some of us will be killed, the Deputy President is no pushover. He has supporters all over the country,” he said.
Sudi further called on the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to enjoin him and other allies of the DP since they “are the owners of tanga tanga”.
He was accompanied by other Ruto allies including Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa, and Soy MP Caleb Kositany.
It was not immediately clear why the Ruto camp had changed tune on Miguna’s deportation which was overturned by the High Court in February last year.
The government has since refused to abide by numerous court orders requiring it to issue Miguna with a new passport.
The Canada-based political activists, has recently made political statements in support of Ruto - which could explain the sentiments made by Sudi.
