An autopsy conducted on the body of the deceased revealed that she met a slow, painful death in the hands of her murderers.
A post mortem conducted on the 39 year old mother of two revealed that she was hit nine times on the head, leading to her death.
Upon realizing that she was not yet dead, her murderers reportedly suffocated her before organizing for the body to be ferried and dumped at a dam in at a dam in Mugutha, Juja.

According to the report released seven days after her death, she had a deep cut in one side of her forehead, an injury believed to have been inflicted by the back of a gun.
It is suspected Wambui was hit on the head nine times with a gun which was also inflicted a deep cut on one side of her forehead.
Juja police boss Simon Thirikwa confirmed that police are working round the clock to that those behind the murder that shook the nation face justice.
“For now, all I can tell you is the investigating teams from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are working round the clock to ensure they complete the investigations,” said Mr Thirikwa.

Motive of the murder
By Friday evening, a team of investigators, led by Mr Cornelius Arwasa were trying to uncover the motive for the crime by piecing together information.
Reports also indicate that the deceased husband Joseph Kori Karue who currently in police custody was a licenced gun holder.
Investigations are underway to establish if his gun was used in the murder in what is suspected to be a love triangle roping in his mpango wa kando.

The deceased was not aware but had suspected her husband to be having an affair with the former employee.
On Saturday, Wangui knocked on Wambui’s marital home in Garden Estate, she was asking the whereabouts of Kori.
Wambui did not raise alarm but was nice to her, despite her suspicions on the affair.
Both Wangui and Wambui are active members of the Kenyan Facebook community and have both shared intimate photos with Kori.
She got back to her house and prepared for a lunch date, but since Wangui’s taxi had stalled, she offered her a ride in her white Mercedes.

Police believe the two went on to have a happy afternoon, visiting various entertainment and social joints along Thika Highway.
In the evening, Wambui successfully convinced Wangui to take her to house (Wangui’s) – perhaps to put to rest her suspicions.

Kori had rented a two-bedroom house for Wangui at Four Ways Junction where monthly rent is about Sh60,000. His photos hang on the walls leaving no doubt of the arrangement they had kept secret for more than two years.
The businessman was already at the house when Wangui took Wambui to the house – sparking off a fight that left Kori’s wife dead.

Her body was wrapped in a bedsheet and a taxi called to get rid of the body – he refused after discovering what was happening.
