Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has said that Deputy President William Ruto is dejected individual and his obsession with Opposition Chief Raila Odinga is understandable.

In a tweet on Sunday morning, Babu said that things had changed for the Deputy President and he cannot order things around as he was used to.

He went on to say that the only option DP Ruto was left with was mocking the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in funerals because he can no longer control them.

“DP Ruto is a very depressed man. Ruto's obsession with Raila Odinga is understandable. Those days when he could order DCI and EACC from Sugoi via phone calls are long gone and now he has to try and arm twist these institutions by heckling in public rallies & funerals,” read Babu Owino’s tweet.

His words come a few days after Deputy President William Ruto called out ODM over what he termed as hypocrisy for advocating for women in governance but dismissed Aisha Jumwa who was elected to represent the people of Malindi.

"You who've masqueraded as champions of women, now in your true colours expel a woman elected in her own right after defeating men, blackmailing her to kneel and worship you as an 'apology'. Crime? associating with elected DP of GoK you have 'handshake' with. Tragically deceitful," read the DP’s tweet.

ODM resolved to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party after she declared support for the Deputy President against the party’s direction.
