Mariga hauna bahati – Babu Owino warns

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sent a warning to former footballer McDonald Mariga ahead of the Nov 7, Kibra by-election.

Babu’s message came shortly after late Ken Okoth’s brother Imran Okoth was named the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate after beating nine other candidates to clinch the party ticket.

The MP said that he will officially be in-charge of the campaigns in Kibra cautioning that if Mariga was smart, he would just step aside and stick to what he knows best, which is football.

Babu Owino also congratulated Imran Okoth for winning the ODM nomination for Kibra.

“Congratulations to Bernard Okoth Imran for winning the kibra Nominations. I want to inform the public that I will be in-charge of kibra by election and I will ensure that ODM candidate Wins. Mariga hauna bahati when I’m in charge better step aside because the political wheel will molest you. Babu Owino the political Beast will crash you in the by elections. You will lose and be humiliated with your political mentor. We love you as Kenyans mariga but football loves you more, better stick to it. Umeingiza kichwa kwa matako ya ndovu ukifikiria ina asali,” wrote Babu.

Imran Okoth was the Constituency manager during Ken Okoth’s tenure and he over saw the implementation of various development initiatives at a time when his brother was ailing.

He garnered 4382 votes in the day-long exercise that proceeded smoothly despite the low turn-out.
