Mzee Moi pours his heart out in a moving tribute to Jonathan

Former President Daniel Moi on Saturday paid glowing tribute to his deceased son Jonathan Moi, revealing the special relationship they shared and acknowledging that the deceased was not a perfect man.

In the moving tribute delivered by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Mzee Moi acknowledged that Jonathan was not perfect just like any other human being but accepted him just as he was.

"You were not perfect, but you were my son. Blood of my blood," read Gideon.

The retired President revealed that his biggest achievement was getting the chance to be his father.

Moi stated that the death of Jonathan before his own death was in deed a painful experience, but accepted it as God’s will and proof that material things are not all that important.

"Fathers shouldn't bury their children. A son should never be buried by his father but Jonathan's death was God's will. You are the blood of my blood. Stay well son until we meet again.” Read the tribute.

The tribute revealed that from a very tender age, Jonathan showed signs of being a down to earth and a hardworking person adding that his love for farming and rally competitions came as a surprise to him.

Indeed several leaders and neighbours eulogized the deceased as a humble servant whose generosity knew no boundaries.

In the tribute, Mzee Moi envisioned that Jonathan’s late mother Mama Lena Moi who passed on in 2002 would receive him in heaven.
