IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati released a statement divulging that Msando sent a text message to his colleagues at 3 am before the mysterious disappearance.

“The last communication from him is an SMS text sent to one of his colleagues at around 3.00 am on Saturday morning. The content of the SMS suggests that he was conscious and fully aware of his itinerary for that day,” Chebukati said.

The content of the text message was on Wednesday night revealed by IEBC Chairman Ezra Chiloba.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen’s Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) Show, disclosed that the SMS by Msando was an apology to one of his colleagues.

IEBC manager told his colleague who had a burial on Saturday that he would not be able to attend the ceremony.

“We were very confident that he was alive. The reason being that at about 3 O’clock in the morning he had sent a text message to one of his colleagues who had lost his father and the burial was being conducted on Saturday informing him that he might not make it. So basically excusing himself in advance.

“That gave us an assurance that this person was conscious he knew what was happening that he knew his programme the following day,” Chiloba said.

However, this was never so as Msando was killed and dumped in Kikuyu.

The IEBC boss described the murder of Msando as something that should never happen to a human being.

Chiloba divulged that Msando’s body appeared as if he was operated before being killed.

“He had wounds around his neck. Both of his hands sliced systematically from top to the bottom. It was as if somebody was operating on him. As a Commission we are very devastated,” Chiloba said hesitantly.
