Citizen TV's Stephen Letoo has confirmed having tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

In a phone conversation heard by Pulselive, the journalist also relayed that he is asymptomatic and in isolation.

"The company [Royal Media Services] conducted mass testing and I can't even believe it... It's true. I'm positive but I don't even feel sick. Now I'm in isolation, just treating myself at home with ginger and lemon...it's very scary by the way," he said in the phone conversation.

The journalist conveyed that he was not immediately able to trace where he may have contracted the infection from.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has, in two subsequent briefings, encouraged members of the press and government officials present at the pressers to treat each other with caution.

During the Friday briefing he also encouraged Kenyans and men specifically to be keen on wearing masks while in public spaces.

"Sanasana sisi wazee, sisi wanaume ndio tunaambukizwa zaidi (Especially men, we are the ones being infected at a very high rate.)

"I'd like us to behave the way women are in following the Ministry of Health guidelines. If you observe closely you will see that at the market places women are wearing their masks. But when you look at garages you will see most men are not wearing masks. I'm pleading with the men, we are double - two thirds of the infections are actually men so I'm begging men (to follow prevention protocols)," the CS pleaded.
