Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir is dead

The 67-year-old Bishop passed on at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret on Monday morning.

The demise of the man of the clothe hit headline Monday morning even as the cause of his death remained unknown.

Unconfirmed reports early Monday indicated that the Bishop might have passed on due to a heart attack while at St Luke Hospital  in Eldoret and his body taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. This information, however, awaits conformation from the church.

The late was born on 6th July 1950. He was ordained as a catholic priest in 1982 and was later appointed as Catholic Bishop of Eldoret Diocese on 2nd of April 1990.

The Bishop was ordained as Bishop on 2nd June 1990  and until his death, he was among Church leaders in North Rift region who have been warning political leaders against utterances that might divide Kenyans along tribal lines.

On Sunday he allegedly led a mass service in Eldoret church and he looked healthy.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the late Bishop.
