Speaking to delegates on Thursday, CS Balala urged counties to put an end to harassment which he noted would affect the tourism industry.
He further noted that the harassment was a big concern that denies visitors real life experience.
Growing industry
Additionally, the Tourism CS reiterated the need to ensure closer integration of the community living around tourist hot spots.
Balala was addressing delegates at the Coast Tourism Stakeholders Summit at the Neptune Beach Hotel Conference Centre, Diani, South Coast where he urged counties to protect guests for the benefits of the industry growing.
The Tourism CS stated: "The summit whose theme is Inspiring Transformation of the Beach Destination was an opportunity to leverage on the transformative agenda by broadening the stakeholder engagement in transforming the Kenyan Coast destination."
He added: "The summit aims at moving Kenya Swahili Coast forward by enhancing the country's competitive position in the global tourism market through a strong destination brand and delivery of authentic and exceptional Kenya travel experience."
