Raila's message to Uhuru after skipping debate

President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to show up for the presidential Debate that was organized at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).

Despite his absenteeism, NASA Flag bearer Raila Odinga had a special message for him.

Raila wished Willam Ruto and President Kenyatta well, saying that the August general election will be a friendly affair.

"Nawatakia Uhuru Kenyatta na rafiki yake bwana Ruto, kila la heri. Itakuwa ni mchezo wa kirafiki” Said Raila Odinga.

Raila got his 90 minutes of fame where he used to opportunity to interact with Kenyans and respond to their questions.

The former Prime Minister was the sole participant at the debate for the leading presidential candidates after President Uhuru Kenyatta ended a day of mixed signals from State House by skipping the event.

Odinga used the opportunity to elaborate on his campaign promises such as the reduction of rent and to emphasise his assertions that all the security agencies are involved in a conspiracy with the Jubilee administration.

Raila also used podium to clarify the matter of having a parallel  tallying center in Tanzania.

“Why should somebody be worried about a polling centre whether it is in Germany, Tanzania or even on the moon? It should not be an issue,” he added.

However when he was pushed to give a response to the question, he said  “We have a tallying centre in Kenya, in Kenya and in the clouds.”

Only three presidential candidates turned up for the first slot of the Presidential Debate which was slated to kick off at 5:30PM.

The candidates included; Japheth Kavinga Kaluyu, Prof Michael Wainaina and Dr. Ekuru Aukot.
