Details have emerged that John Mutinda, the man who died after his vehicle plunged ito the Indian Ocen at the Likoni ferry channel may have driven to his death.

Reports indicate that Mutinda left home in a rush after having a brief exchange with his wife who was opposed to him leaving the house at 4A.M.

Quoting well-placed sources, Citizen Digital reports that Mutinda left his house claiming to have an urgent meeting.

His wife tried to get details of the meeting from him to no avail as she attempted to convince him not to leave unsuccessfully.

She is reported to have gone a step further and even hidden the keys to the car but this too did not help.

Mutinda reportedly left his house while still in his pajamas and drove to the Likoni channel where he bought a ticket before speeding off the ramp and plunging into the ocean.

Kenya Navy divers have retrieved his body as well as his Toyota Allion KBX 475B.

The vehicle, which was 6 meters deep in the sea was towed to Likoni police station.
