According to several sources, Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper, Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya, Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) will each be allocated four cabinet positions in the new Nasa administration.
However, Nasa is keen on ensuring that their proposed government will not be tribal which according to them, the Jubilee administration has been guilty of.
Face of Kenya
To ensure this, the powerful cabinet positions will be filled by persons from different tribes to reflect the face of Kenya.
A source within the alliance revealed to a local media that the five principals had agreed among themselves that each them will not fill the posts exclusively from their own communities.
The same method will also be replicated towards the selection of the Principal Secretaries who will also come from different communities.
Each of the principals has also been allocated at least four parastatal slots should Nasa form the government.
The powerful positions of Speakers of both the National Assembly and Senate is said to be settled upon after the August elections should they win.
The Nasa principals are expected to hold a meeting on Thursday where they will officially receive Governor Ruto and welcome him into the alliance.
