Elgeyo-Marakwet County Governor Alex Tolgos, a close ally of Ruto was booed down by supporters of independent candidate Moses Changwony.Kenyatta tried to address the rowdy crowd but opted to steer clear of the two rivals  stating that he would leave the matter to his deputy.

"I do not want to get involved in the local politics but I want to leave it to you and William," the President told the gathering which seemed to appease them.DP Ruto's attempt to calm the crowd bore no fruits as he was shouted down by supporters of Changwony who were chanting his name all along."I have heard you and we are going to digest that. We have agreed that we will vote Uhuru for President 100 per cent, but this one for Governorship you leave to me so that we can make it a house keeping for another day," Ruto stateThe incumbent Governor Tolgos, who controversially clinched the Jubilee party's tickets in the nominations, was heckled down when he attempted to address the crowd.

"Your Excellency, I have beaten him thrice and I will still beat him in August," the Governor exuded confidence.The president and his deputy urged the locals to vote for Jubilee for a second term in office due to its development record.
