"My aspirations for Governor are proving to be unrealistic for 2017 for many reasons and for that I am sorry. What next? #Let'sWinTogether” she tweeted before asking her followers what position they think she should vie for.
Esther Passaris' greatest fear that sent her bolting out of the Nairobi Gubernatorial race
After months of campaigning for change and an unforgettable showdown with the controversial politician and author Miguna Miguna, Esther Passaris declared that she had bitten off more that she could chew and decided to drop what she called ‘unrealistic’ goals for 2017.
9% said they would like it if she vied for the position of Senator for Nairobi County, 41% thought Women Rep Nairobi would be better suited for her while 12% said that she should vie for the position of Member of Parliament. While 38% felt that she should kick off her political journey as a Member of the County Assembly (MCA).
However, there are those who felt that she had bolted out of the race too soon.
Joachim Oroba asked “Why bolt out before the start of the race. It all depends on your self-assessment first.”
To which Esther replied with “It's an exercise in futility. Nairobi politics caught up in a show of might and tribal politics. I will be trampled grass.”
Expressing her fears that she would lose not because of lack of qualifications but because Nairobi political scene ran on who had the financial and political might and the tribe they came from.
