During an emotional press conference at his office in Mombasa, Joho publicly stated that he had scored a mean grade of D – (Minus) during the KCSE examinations which he sat in 1993.
Joho stressed that he should be highlighted as an example that failure in Form Four is not a hindrance to future success.
“I am proud of my D Minus, I have turned it into success and it should be an inspiration to many Kenyans and encourage them to make the best out of what they have.
I urge other Kenyans; if you did not do well, that is not the end of the world,” Joho said.
State frustrations
Joho accused the Jubilee administration led by President Uhuru Kenyatta of using all of its state organs including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and even the Ministry of Health (whom he claims are investigating his birth certificate) to frustrate and prevent him from being re-elected as Mombasa Governor.
The Mombasa Governor said that he was aware that the government have even gone further to his nursery school (Tononoka Nursery School) and primary school (Tom Mboya Primary School) to probe his early education.
He however said he will remain steadfast in his resolve to lead the Mombasa people and will not be cowed by intimidation and threats from President Kenyatta and his administration.
He said he will avail himself and honour the CID sermons on Wednesday at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations county offices and record the statement on forgery claims on his certificates as well as ask the security officers questions of his own.
