Former Secretary General of Raila Odinga’s ODM and the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader Ababu Namwamba is now accusing his former party of bitterness, after he left the party last year.

Namwamba has blamed ODM for causing confusion in his LPK leadership to make it unpopular ahead of the General Election.

"As a party, we have absolutely no time for juvenile antics by political amateurs acting at the behest of some bitter ex (ODM) that has simply refused to move on.”

“We tell you that we moved on. Move on too, otherwise if you don't that bile will kill you," said the Budalang'i MP in Eldoret after attending a national women's congress.

Earlier this week, the Political Party's Dispute Tribunal ordered Namwamba's membership and party leadership suspended until a petition challenging his status is heard and determined.

ODM expulsion

Last week, the expulsion of Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, and subsequent stripping off of his secretarial roles in the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) was ‘unconstitutional’, a Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has said.

Namwamba, who is now the leader of Labour Party of Kenya and Likoni MP and former Mombasa mayor Mwalimu Masoud Mwahima, were expelled from ODM for allegedly being rebels.

The tribunal chaired by Kyalo Mbobu ruled that Namwamba and Masoud were not given a fair hearing. The tribunal said that the two never faced any disciplinary committee prior to their expulsion.

ODM allegedly reached the decision to expel Namwamba and Masoud following their move to attend the grand launch of Jubilee Party at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on September 10th.
