Ruto has lashed out at the opposition, saying that its motive to oust the ruling Jubilee Party in the August elections is greed for power, not to develop the country.

For the newly formed NASA coalition deal, insiders indicated, there will be a position of Chief Minister, which would go to the NASA ticket aspirant who emerges third in the alliance’s presidential nominations race.

The DP has urged the residents of NASA dominated Kilifi County to re-elect its leaders during the August polls.

The deputy president urged Coast residents to join Jubilee and re-elect its leaders during the August polls.

Jubilee offensive charm

Ruto has also endorsed Kisao Kahindi, an aspirant for the Kaloleni constituency parliamentary seat, to be the Jubilee candidate.

"Kisao should join MPs Gideon Mung'aro and Mustafa Iddi to make a formidable team to enable Jubilee win in Kilifi," Ruto told residents.

Kilifi South’s MP Mustafa Iddi and his Kilifi North counterpart Gideon Mung'aro were elected on ODM tickets in 2013, they have since defected to Jubilee citing negligence from the defunct coalition CORD.

The two have assured DPO Ruto of support in the August polls adding that Jubilee belongs to Coast residents, has a national outlook and has helped develop the region. The two accused NASA leadership of having had nothing to offer for their years in government.

Ruto turned his gun to the incumbent Kilifi Governor Amazon Kingi, saying he had failed to work with the Jubilee administration to develop the county.
