ODM blast Uhuru for calling Joho unprinted insults, accuses him of suffering from 'hangover'

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has condemned the blocking and detaining of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, accuses president Uhuru of suffering from hangover of the old constitution.

Through its chairman, John Mbadi the orange party decried the high level of Insults and harassments the government has of late resorted to as witnessed in Turkana and Mombasa.

“Going to counties to intimidate, insult and harass governors who are working round the clock to ensure service delivery to the people is unacceptable” the lawmaker stated.

The Suba MP was speaking at Orange house where they had called a press release to address what they termed as utter lies by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee administration.

“For some time now Jubilee has been claiming that Turkana county received 50bilion from the national government, we challenge the Jubilee regime to provide this data, in Mombasa they claimed the county government has s far received 40 billion...These are utter lies” he added.

The ODM chairman claimed the Jubilee administration had failed Kenyans and it was time to pack and go.

"Three things cannot be hidden in Kenya today: the sun, the moon and Jubilee incompetence” Mbadi said.

On his part, Suna East MP, Junet Mohammed said the president recent flare ups steamed from the fact that come August 8 he was going to lose the presidential seat to Raila Odinga.

“You know when somebody is drowning he can clutch on anything at the sea” he alluded.

On the presidents outburst about Joho being referred as ‘Sultan’ Junet explained that the title was a respected title reserved for highly regarded Muslim leaders which even the president himself cannot be conferred with.

“I want to clarify one thing he [Uhuru] complained about this morning, that governor Joho is called Sultan, you know us Muslims you call sultan somebody who is a serious leader, the way his people call him Muthamaki……so he should accept that he is a Muthamaki  in Kiambu and Joho is a sultan in Mombasa” the vocal MP stated.

The ODM party has called on president Uhuru to come clean about his interests in Turkana and Mombasa County, since according to them he was hell-bent to frustrate and sabotage the governors of these two counties.

The opposition party also asked president Uhuru to stop making utterances that are inflammatory , derogatory and unpresidential.

ODM accused president Uhuru of suffering from hangover of the old constitution which bestowed all power to the president.

"president Uhuru kenyatta must appreciate that the constitution fundamentally changed the political architecture of the country and that the era of imperial  and authoritarian president was buried deep and forgotten when Kenyans overwhelmingly choose a new constitutional dispensation  in 2010"
