Details have emerged that ODM leader Raila Odinga has been forced to cut short his trip to the US to address a possible fall out in the Nation Super Alliance (NASA).

An ODM MP, who spoke to the Nation, revealed that Odinga had originally been scheduled to fly back from the US later in the week but his advisers had asked him to urgently change his schedule because of the Crisis in NASA.

The Opposition leader’s spokesman, Dennis Onyango, disclosed that he would be arriving on Monday morning, which was earlier than planned.

The former Prime Minister will then hold a crisis meeting on Tuesday with NASA principals Mr Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Mr Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Mr Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya).

Khalif Kairo and his former business partner Clement Kinuthia are locked in a heated exchange of accusations, with Kairo now alleging that Clement not only cheated on his wife but also had an affair with his (Kairo’s) girlfriend. The car dealer also revealed that he is currently single, but will introduce a new lady once he resolves the issues surrounding his business.

The meeting comes barely a day after Musyoka threatened to walk out of the alliance if he was not made the flagbearer.

A source privy to the meeting disclosed that the session would only be attended by the principals without their personal aides.

Confirming the meeting, Mudavadi stated that each principal would restate their commitment to the alliance.

“We want to stabilise the situation. Such a session would be important since we have not had a full house meeting since Odinga travelled out. We have the commitment of each one of us that we are in this to the end,” Mr Mudavadi stated.

Pressure has been mounting over who is going be the NASA flagbearer. ODM leaders Hassan Joho and James Oreng’o have maintained that Odinga must be the flagbearer of NASA.

On the other hand, Wiper maintains that Odinga must stick to the memorandum of Understanding (MOU) they signed with Kalonzo in 2013.
