Governor William Kabogo brought Kiambu to a standstill during President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to the County.

Kabogo’s flamboyant lifestyle was largely displayed after he ensured that his armoured Iveco LMV was part of the entourage during the President’s visit.

Residents who had gathered to welcome the Head of State could not help but stare at the state of the art machine vehicles.

The vehicles are designed to reduce the threat posed by improvised explosive devices and approximate cost between Sh20 million and Sh30 million.

Meanwhile, supremacy battle between Kabogo and his fierce rival Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu almost overshadowed the president's visit when supporters of the duo almost clashed.

This provoked an angry Kenyatta to warn supporters of Kabogo and Waititu that he would not endorse anyone.

“Both Kabogo and Waititu are my good friends. However, I have decided not to endorse any of them ahead of the Jubilee nominations so you can be the ones to decide who your next governor will be. We will have tea with the one who loses, but he will have to forget about leadership,” the President affirmed.

The Head of State also took and opportunity to thank his deputy William Ruto, who had accompanied him to the event

“I would like to thank the Deputy President because he has ensured that we work together in unity, a move that has ensured that we serve Kenyans without internal squabbles and drawbacks,” Kenyatta told the DP.
