Embu Governor Wambora's bodyguard dies after disagreement with boda boda operators

Body guard attached to Embu Governor Martin Wambora died on Tuesday after succumbing to injuries he sustained during a fight with boda boda operators in Kithimu, Embu County.

Reports indicated that the body guard identified as Christopher Njue, was involved in a heated disagreement with the boda boda operators over fare charged.

According to Embu West OCPD Julius Meli, the 44 year-old was visiting his friend and was heading back to Kithimu from Embu town when the incident occurred on Monday evening.

Further reports noted that the argument turned chaotic where Njue and the operators engaged in a fist fight that left him with severe injuries.

The deceased who was an Embu county government enforcement officer, was rushed to Embu Level Five hospital where he passed on while receiving treatment.

Meli stated that the boda boda operator who was carrying Njue was arrested and was currently being held at the Itabua police station.

The police boss further explained that investigations into the matter had already begun.

Kiambu Deputy Governor bodyguard shot

In January this year, Kiambu Deputy Governor Dr James Nyoro’s bodyguard was shot and injured while his father was killed during a robbery incident at Kamuguga Village in Kabete.

The bodyguard identified as John Mungai was ambushed at his home by two gangsters as he went to close the gate to the compound.

One of the robbers who was armed with a pistol, demanded money and mobile phones from the family of Mungai.

While dragging Mungai and the family to the house, one of the robbers got injured on the staircase leading to the door which forced the other one to fire at the body guard and his father in fear that the victims were attempting to fight back.
