Waititu re-emerges after weeks of silence, hosts Raila in Kiambu

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Thursday resurfaced into the public eye after weeks of silence.

Waititu hosted ODM Leader Raila Odinga during the hand-over of the Alma apartment complex built by Cytonn Real Estate.

The Kiambu Governor has been conspicuously absent from the public eye since his arrest in May by detectives from the Ethics and the Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Waititu at the time said the case against him, alongside his wife Susan Ndungu, and Monica Njeri was politically motivated by his support for Deputy President William Ruto.

While the Governor had promised to continue campaigning for the Tanga Tanga political movement, he ceased accompanying Ruto to political events.

On Thursday, Waititu was accompanied by several members of the Kieleweke team when he hosted Odinga in Kiambu.

Among those present were nominated MP Maina Kamanda, Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange, Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro, among others.
