A number of Bomet County members of parliament have come out in support of the incoming governor assuring him of full support.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have also assured Barchok that his administration will remain as close to the presidency as was Governor Laboso's.

Edwin Abonyo's advise to Hillary Barchok

The late Governor's husband, Edwin Abonyo, also advised Mr Barchok to fulfill the manifesto developed by his late wife.

He assured Barchok that Laboso had picked him from his job at Chuka University because she had complete faith he would execute what they set out to achieve.

Former Prime Minsiter Raila Odinga echoed sentiments shared by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and her Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu to appoint a female deputy governor.

The special AU envoy noted that it is only obvious that since the Bomet government had been structured to have a man and a woman at the top then it would be logical to maintain the balance.
