How French tourist moved from Amboseli, Tsavo, Naivasha while suffering coronavirus

Details have emerged on how a French tourist moved across multiple counties while suffering from the highly contagious coronavirus.

The French national was airlifted to the Mbagathi Hospital isolation facility while in critical condition.

On Tuesday, the government sent out teams to hotels and restaurants in Naivasha, in Amboseli, and in the Tsavo national park where the French nation and his wife had been vacationing.

In Tsavo alone, 16 people were identified and are expected to be subjected to the coronavirus tests and quarantined for fourteen days.

On Monday, the government announced that it had tracked a total of 646 people who had contacts with the 16 patients who have tested positive for coronavirus.

The number is likely to increase as the French tourist's contacts are traced.

The development came as Rwanda announced that three Kenyans had tested positive after being screened while attempting to enter the country.

The Kenyan government is expected to trace the contacts of the three Kenyans who travelled to Rwanda.

The fight against coronavirus has been hampered by refusal to quarantine among people who have been to high-risk areas.

Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi and a priest from Siaya are among those who have been forcefully isolated after declining to self-quarantine after travelling from Germany and Italy respectively.
