All candidates have until Tuesday next week to comply

In a statement, IEBC has given all politicians a 7-day ultimatum to clean all the posters erected for purposes of campaign, failure to which will lead to a sanctions.
Through a Twitter message the Commission divulged that it will go ahead to impose sanctions to the candidates who will fail to honour the call by the end of the altimatum.
"You are required to remove all banners, billboards, placards and posters erected during this election within seven (7) days of this notice, failing which the Commission shall impose sanctions,” the Commission said in a statement.
According to the IEBC, the order affects all political parties, agents and members who support particular parties and candidates in the just concluded elections.
Article 88(4) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, gives the IEBC the mandate to develop the code of conduct which all the candidates should follow.
“The Commission is responsible for conducting or supervising office referenda and elections to any elective body or office established by… […] and, in particular, for the development of a code of conduct for candidates and parties contesting elections,” it states.
