I want them to serve as role models - IG Mutyambai
While on his visit to Kakamega County, IG Mutyambai hailed Kakamega Traffic Base Commander Bernard King'oo for leading a diligent team in the region.
"I want traffic officers in Kakamega to be my models to the rest. I plan to invite them to other regions to interact with other officers on how to set a good example and image of the traffic officers," he stated.
The IG had just made an impromptu stop at a multi agency manned road block along Kisumu - Kakamega road where he witnessed several motorists arrested and charged on the spot at a mobile court set-up at Murakha.
Special rewards for non-corrupt traffic police
The IG further vowed to set a structure through which police officers who do not collect bribes will be recognized and rewarded by the State.
"I am thinking of introducing rewards to honour traffic officers who will set a good example in their work by ensuring they do not engage in corrupt practices and enhance road safety," he stated.
