A gangster was on Monday shot dead in a city estate soon after he robbed and attacked Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s bodyguard.
The bodyguard, Sylvester Ambasa, later chased after the gang of three on foot while firing towards the gang.
According to a local daily, police officers who were on patrol responded and managed to gun down one of the suspects while the other two escaped.

A homemade pistol with two rounds of ammunition was seized from the suspect, whose two accomplices escaped on foot.
In January, unknown gunmen killed a bodyguard attached to Natural Resources Principal Secretary Margaret Mwakima in Umoja estate.
Sergeant Asbel Kipkorir was shot as he was offloading food items he had bought for his family along Kangundo Road in Umoja estate.
He later died while receiving treatment in Nairobi West Hospital.
