Jackline Mwende delivered a healthy bouncing baby at the Machakos Level 5 Hospital shortly after she was transferred from Masii Level Three Hospital.
Mwende successfully gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday through cesarean section.
The birth marks a bitter sweet year for Mwende who made both national and international headlines after her husband allegedly chopped off her hands for not bearing him children after seven years of marriage.
Well-wishers
LG electronics later came to her rescue and footed for her successful operation in a South Korean hospital, Dhailaban Prosthetic Lab, where was fitted with the custom-made limbs.
Well-wishers led by Machakos First Lady Lilian Ng’ang’a and woman representatives Susan Musyoka (Machakos), Mary Seneta (Kajiado), Joyce Lay (Taita Taveta), Florence Kajuju (Meru) and Rose Museo (Makueni) ensured she received Sh30,000 monthly for a year from the Machakos government and free medical care, including counselling, until her full recovery.
She was also gifted with a two bed-roomed house with a fully stocked mini-mart to help her meet her needs.
In addition she was provided for a house keeper whose services are paid for by the Machakos County for a year.
She later met another man whom she conceived with while still with her husband.
Mwende defend her pregnancy saying that she had cheated her husband in order to try and save her marriage.
