Wiper's followers were photographed carrying placards which were interpreted as attacks on Prof Kibwana for his different views on ideology with the party.

Protests

However, this seems to have triggered KOT who argued that Prof Kibwana was a national leader and if Kambas do not support him other Kenyans will.

These protests against the Makueni governor come in the backdrop of calls to have Prof Kibwana to step aside and vie again.

Prof Kibwana announced his resignation as the party chairman for the wiper Democratic Party.

Resignation

While announcing the move, the Makueni Governor revoked his ties with Mr Musyoka's party citing that he could no longer be in an abusive marriage.

However, Wiper party secretary general Judith Sijeny said there has been no formal communication showing that Prof. Kibwana has resigned.

Ms Sijeny, however, accused Kivutha of dishonesty regarding his claims of being fought within the party and decisions made without consultation.

According to her, the party chairman has not been involved fully in party matters particularly Musyoka’s move to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta on the Big Four Agenda and Building Bridges initiative.
