CS Amina issues new directive to affect all Kenyan schools

The directive takes effect immediately

Education Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed has issued a new directive that will affect all Kenyan schools, effective immediately.

In the new directive, all public and private primary and secondary schools have been ordered to stick to the 8am to 3.30pm class hours.

She added that any other arrangement to have students in school before or after the said time will be illegal.

The Education CS gave the directive on Tuesday when she appeared before the National Assembly Education Committee to give a report on the recent unrest among students.

In the report, CS Amina noted that 107 cases of unrest in secondary schools were reported with Eastern, Rift Valley and Nyanza recording the highest numbers of unrest at 40, 25 and 20 respectively.
