Mr. Igathe could not hide his joy as Equity Bank confirmed his appointment, months after resigning from his role as Nairobi Deputy Governor.

The ex-Nairobi deputy governor said that he was focused on seeing the Bank grow beyond borders through the experience he has in working for various big organizations.

"I am therefore glad to offer my networks and experience, in the Eastern Africa private sector scene, to grow the Equity brand in the corporate segment of the market," he said.

The former Vivo boss was appointed alongside Julius Kayoboke, who is now the Group Director in charge of Customer Experience and Product Management.

Kaboyoke previously worked as the Marketing Director of Heineken in Rwanda
