Court makes ruling on the fate of Micheal Oyamo

Micheal Oyamo's fate sealed

High Court on Wednesday made a ruling on Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s PA, sealing his fate for the next 14-days.

Presiding over the case Judge Luka Kimaru ordered that Micheal Oyamo be detained at Muthaiga police station until September 26, 2018, as investigations into the murder of Sharon Otieno, the Rongo University student continues.

Judge Kimaru further directed that Mr. Oyamo should be allowed to access legal counsel.

"Due to the multifaceted and complex nature of the investigation that involves many suspects and many leads, it is only fair that the subject continue to be detained for a further period of 14 days. He shall be detained at the Muthaiga Police station.

"During his detention, his rights and fundamental freedoms that are guaranteed by the constitution shall be protected.

"He shall be allowed access to his counsel during day time and his relatives who will be vetted shall also be granted access to see him," the judge said.
