A General Service Unit (GSU) Recce Squad officer Jennings Orlando Odhiambo who has been on the run for the past one month has been arrested over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Jennings was arrested in Nairobi and taken to Muthaiga police station for questioning.

The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) confirmed his arrest with affirmation that he is an officer in the elite Recce Squad attached to the United States Embassy.

Detectives searched his house at Recce Headquarters in Ruiru with the hope of finding a weapon which was used to rob off Ms. Kimani’s life.

Arraigned in court

The suspect was arraigned at the Kiambu Law courts where detectives were given 14 days to detain him as they carry on with the investigations.

Earlier reports indicated that Jennings had fled the country into Tanzania and had made a stop in Mombasa where DCI detectives camped for a couple of days.

He is believed to be a close friend to Joseph Irungu, a prime suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani who is currently being held at Industrial Area Remand Prison in Nairobi.
