Matiang’i was accompanied by Tourism CS Najib Balala, Transport CS James Macharia, and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet among other Principal Secretaries.
Speaking to journalists, Mr. Matiang’i said that the visit was meant to inspect the security situation at the Airport.
"We are taking the security of our entry points very seriously. The screening maybe more rigorous at the entry points but we are trying to make it more friendly. All of us have to work together to ensure we have the security we need," he said.
The CS added: "I promise that we will improve on anything else that has not been done. I appreciate the public on the feedback we are getting from them, that is how we want to work as a government.”
The visit is the third one the ministers have made to the airport in a bid to inspect the security.
According to Mr Matiang'i, President Uhuru Kenyatta instructed them to be proactive in ensuring the airport was safe before Kenya’s first direct flight to the USA takes off in October.
