Why Matiang’i made an impromptu visit to JKIA at 5.30am

Matiang'i is full of surprises

Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Thursday morning made an impromptu visit to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Matiang’i was accompanied by Tourism CS Najib Balala, Transport CS James Macharia, and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet among other Principal Secretaries.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Matiang’i said that the visit was meant to inspect the security situation at the Airport.

"We are taking the security of our entry points very seriously. The screening maybe more rigorous at the entry points but we are trying to make it more friendly. All of us have to work together to ensure we have the security we need," he said.
