The government on Tuesday warned that schools which will be found involved in exam cheating will be shut down.
The warning was made by education Cabinet Secretary Amima Mohamed at the launch of 2018 national exams where she assured that all measures have been put in place to ensure smooth running of the process.
“Any invigilator or supervisor or security personnel who attempts to compromise exams will be apprehended immediately and charged in a court of law,” said Mohammed adding that all state organs have pledged to support the process.
KNEC board chairman Professor George Magoha who was also present at the launch, echoed the CS's comments saying that as the government they have put in measures to ensure the exam process is unwrinkled.

Held accountable
He also said that examination officers at exam centers will be held accountable should cheating cases arise.
“We have forewarned you, if we find out we shall not wait, because if we find out it is the school which will come out guns blessing towards high heaven that they take you to court and we are spending millions of shillings defending nothing,” said Magoha.
Magoha also assured teachers that they should ignore circulations on social media about exams having leaked.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is set to begin November 2 whereas Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) begins October 30.
