Deputy President Wiliam Ruto on Thursday issued an order that will cut short the Christmas holiday for a section of government employees.
Ruto ordered that there would be no Christmas Holiday for all security officers working in Baringo County until they all stolen animals were recovered.
Rift Valley regional coordinator Wanyama Musiambo and Baringo county commissioner Peter Okwanyo were also instructed to enforce the order.
The county has recently been hit with the problem of catttle rustling with over a hundred heads of cattle having been stolen in the past week.
"There is no going for Christmas until you recover all the stolen animals and hand them back to the owners. So, you should start pitching your camps in those volatile areas," Ruto stated.
The Deputy President spoke at the Kimalel Goat Auction which has become an annual festival in Baringo County.
Ruto, who was the ceremony's chief guest, carried Sh12 Million cash and purchased 1000 goats.
A total of of 2,081goats were sold in record 15 minutes, raising a total of Sh25 million which will go towards the benefit of the local farmers.
