Another Moi Girls student dies after tragic fire

This brings the death toll to 10.

We have now come to learn that one of the girls saved from the dormitory fire and hospitalized in critical condition has succumbed to her injuries. This brings the death toll to 10 after Mary Njengo Mokaya a student who rescued colleagues in Moi Girls school fire died.

The Moi girls fire was not an accident but an arson attack as Education Cabinet Secretary  Fred Matiang’i revealed during a press conference.

“I can tell you unequivocally that I have been briefed by the police that it was not an accident. All investigations have ruled out the fact that that was not an accident, it was a case of arson and a number of interrogations have happened.”

After the interrogations, one form one student alleged to have started the Moi Girls school fire was arraigned in court and is now facing 9 counts of murder.
