Mr Sonko instructed all owners to repaint their buildings for the purposes of maintenance of health standards and aesthetic value.
According to the Nairobi County by-laws, property owners are expected to repaint their premises after every two years.
Governor Sonko issued unspecified consequences to owners who will not adhere to the orders.
This comes barely a week after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho directed Owners of residential and commercial buildings in Mombasa’s Central Business District to paint the building white with blue (Egyptian shade blue) border.
“The buildings should be in white with Egyptian blue border on the edges and windows above without any sign written on the wall or canopy,” the notice signed by Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Executive Tawfiq Balala read.
Mr Joho also instructed the owners to clean the pathways of their premises failure to which they would be taken to court.
