The suspect who sat his KCSE exams this year allegedly wrote in the KCSE English paper one (functional skills) that he would kill President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The message was discovered by Kenya National Examinations Council officials in Nairobi as they were arranging the papers for marking.
Using the candidate’s registration number, the paper was traced back to the suspect who sat his exams at Elimu Bora Secondary School in Mandera East.
The suspect was apprehended and produced before resident magistrate Duncan Mtai to answer to charges of treason on Friday.
The magistrate directed that the accused should be taken to the county hospital for a mental and age assessment with the case set to be mentioned on Monday.
