Safaricom announces planned maintenance

The disruption of services will affect most of its subscribers.

Safaricom has announced a major disruption of services on its network in the coming days.

Strategy Director Joseph Ogutu on Monday announced that Safaricom services on Wednesday will be unavailable from 9 pm to 12:30 am on Thursday.

The crucial services that will be affected include airtime top up, Okoa Jahazi, airtime and data transfer, data and SMS bundle purchases, Tunukiwa, international calls and SMS.

"Other services including voice data, Mpesa and SMS will remain available," Ogutu said in a statement on Monday.

According to the company, the disruption will allow for maintenance to roll out features and enhancements for its more than 29 million Kenyan clients.

At the same time, the company also announced that it will carry out maintenance on the Safaricom Home Fibre internet from 27th March to 28th March 2018 starting from 11:59pm to 5am.

The telcom company in a text to its customers apologised for any inconvenience caused during the said time in disruption of services.
