Data purchases, Tunukiwa recharges, SIM swaps, Product Purchases, Flex and Okoa Jahazi services will be unavailable between 10.30 pm on Saturday April 7 and 3.00 am on Sunday April 7.
Safaricom PLC Director of Strategy and Innovation Mr Joseph Ogutu in a notice to customers through the local dailies, said that the maintenance is an ongoing improvement on the services, the latest being a second phase of the plan.
“Following the success of our recent planned maintenance, and with the aim of upholding our service excellence, Safaricom will implement the second phase of planned maintenance,” Mr Ogutu said.
He added: “Availability of All Top Ups, All Balance Inquiries, All Data Bundle Purchases, Outgoing international Calls, SMS, All USSD services will be impacted.”
The company has however assured its customers that other service including Voice, Data, MPESA and SMS will be available during the time of maintenance.
Phase I
On Wednesday last week, Safaricom PLC announced another disruption of services which included airtime top up, Okoa Jahazi, airtime and data transfer, data and SMS bundle purchases, Tunukiwa, international calls and SMS.
The company on a notice to customers last week Monday, said that the disruption would allow for maintenance to roll out features and enhancements for its more than 29 million Kenyan clients.
At the same time, the company also announced that it will carry out maintenance on the Safaricom Home Fibre Internet from 27th March to 28th March 2018 starting from 11:59pm to 5am.
The telecom in a text to its customers apologised for any inconvenience caused during the said time in disruption of services.
