Uhuru freezes Government projects

Is this a good move by Uhuru?

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made an important directive freezing all new Government projects.

Speaking at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) Mr Kenyatta stated that the order will stay in place until all the ongoing projects are first completed.

"I have directed all govt accounting officers including Principal Secretaries, Parastatal Heads, Vice Chancellors of Public Universities &Chairmen of State Corporations that there will be no new government projects that will be embarked on until those that are ongoing are complete,"  he said.

However, the head of state mentioned that in case a new project aligned to the Big 4 Agenda needs approval the National Treasury will be ressponsible.
