Hours after Kanze addressed her first press conference, a number of social media users sought to enquire whether Itumbi had relegated from State House and allocated to the Deputy President's press team.
One particular user ridiculed the abrasive PSCU Director, noting that his job was now threatened by the soft-spoken Kanze.
"He awards you HSC, then employs KanzeDena to take up your JD, leaving you with only one thing to do, posting pictures on FB and twitter," Tash Githaka tweeted.
"Is that not a good thing my friend?" Itumbi responded to Githaka.
In the letter announcing Kanze's appointment, State House Chief of Staff noted that he job would include leading the core communications teams, including digital messaging, research, branding and press.
Most of the branding and digital messaging functions have hitherto been under Itumbi's purview.
The outspoken blogger was also queried on why various social media channels did not offer updates on the statement issued by the newly appointed Deputy State House spokesperson; but emerged later to cover statements made by Ruto at a function held at the Coast.
He, however, downplayed the matter saying PSCU briefings are not handled by the entire team.
