Interior CS Fred Matiang’i on Monday held a closed door meeting with several Luo Nyanza MPs allied to ODM Leader Raila Odinga.
Matiang’i met the leaders in his capacity as the Chair of the committee on the implementation of development programmes.
The meeting discussed ways of fast-tracking some of the development programmes directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in his tour of the region.
The legislators were led by ODM minority leader John Mbadi. Migori Senator Achillo Ayacko, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and her Kisumu counterpart Rosa Buyu were among those who attended the meeting.
CSs James Macharia (Transport), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), Joe Mucheru (ICT), and several PSs also attended the meeting.
President Kenyatta said that he would continue to equitably distribute national government resources in the spirit of the handshake.

Ongoing Projects
Among the projects that are ongoing or have been approved in the region include the Sh37 Billion Soin–Koru Dam and water pipeline which covers Kericho and Kisumu
President Kenyatta also recently launched the Ksh.655.9 million Ahero Road Interchange linking Kisumu to Kericho and Kisii counties.
Odinga also promised Migori residents that the national government would move to end the sugarcane woes facing farmers in the area.
