Didmus Barasa tears into popular Woman Rep accusing her of 'chewing small boys'

Honourables in ugly, shameful war of words

MP Didmus Barasa launches attack against Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi

It would seem that honourable members of the 12th Parliament have dropped the code of honour following the Kibra by-election and have undertaken a competition over who can humiliate who the most.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa on Thursday night posted a photo of a court order served to Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi in which Kadhi's Courts had granted her husband custody of their three children in April.

Part of the Kimilili legislator's caption of the photo read: "Please rally KEWOPA (Kenya Women Parliamentary Association) to combine forces with Inua Mama to assist Hon. Fatuma Gedi get another husband. So as to stop chewing small boys including her drivers and bodyguards."

The post by Barasa received diverse reactions from among others, ODM party Communications Director Philip Etale and Busia Woman Rep Florence Mutua.

"Mhesh ... you must know where to draw the line. This is totally unnecessary. Let’s fight political battles mambo ya family wachana nayo (leave family out of it). Am sure you also have your battles in your front. Everyone does," MP Mutua replied.

Fatuma Gedi reponds to Didmus Barasa's 'chewing small boys' post

The Wajir Woman Rep also fired back against MP Barasa's attack equally with an embarrassing photo of her male colleague.

In the photo, Pevans East Africa Ltd seemed to have placed an advert on a newspaper with the photo and ID number of Mr Barasa to caution the public against any claims that he was a representative of the popular SportPesa betting company.

Gedi captioned her photo with: "I'm used to fake stories it will not change anything conman Didmus Barasa."

Earlier in the week, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino told Parliament that Barasa did not suffer any injuries during the Kibra by-election where he had been roughed up by residents.

Babu instead stated that he believed that Mr Barasa had been spotted in a brothel that evening, having a good time.

"Didmus Barasa said that he was admitted in the hospital. Didmus Barasa after the alleged assault he was spotted in a brothel receiving a massage, Madam Speaker," Babu disclosed.
