Family of late Governor Nderitu Gachagua in mourning

According to reports the two-year grandson died after being mauled by their neighbour’s six dogs at Ring Road Estate in Nyeri Town.

The grandson was living with the former Nyeri first lady Margret Karunguru who tried to fight off the dogs when they were dragging the little boy but all was in vain.

However the dogs were driven away through the help of neighbours and rescued the two- year old child.

He was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to injuries.

Nyeri Deputy Governor Mutahi Kahiga who spoke on behave of the family said the matter has been taken up by police.
