Marwa laughs off rumours of being transferred as he vows to continue illicit drugs crackdown

Marwa also added that the government will not relent in the fight against drug trafficking.

On Wednesday, ODM communications official Philip Etale tweeted that Mr Marwa had been transferred igniting rumours that the fiery regional boss, who has been giving the opposition especially Mombasa governor, Hassan Joho sleepless nights due to his firm stand on various issues.

The Director of Digital Communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi had also deny the transfer report.

"Do not listen to these people telling you Nelson Marwa has been moved from #001," Mr Itumbi posted on his Facebook page.

“We are targeting all drug barons and we want to tell them that we shall never be intimidated. I have given all my life to this noble cause” Marwa warned.

It is not lost though that fiery Marwa has been quiet for some time since Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho flew to the United States early mid-February for an anti-extremism summit.

His counterpart vocal ODM deputy has also maintained a low profile for sometime now, maybe the two are catching their breath ahead of the general elections.

Mr Marwa is normally seen by Jubilee supporters as the “antidote” to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who is fond of criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration.
