New curriculum is demonic - Nairobi mother claims, stops daughters from schooling

New curriculum is satanic- Nairobi mother claims

New Curriculum Books

A mother in Kibera, Nairobi has been accused of stopping her children from learning the new curriculum which she termed as satanic.

Lilian Manyasi reportedly withdrew her two daughters from Spurgeon's Academy due to her religious beliefs.

Police arrested Ms Manyasi who was charged on Tuesday for denying her children the right to education.

The court ruled to detain her for 14 days, as her case was scheduled to be heard on January 29.

Refuting allegations

However, Ms Manyasi denied that she stopped her daughters from going to school since it is their choice to pursue education.

Speaking to journalists, Ms Manyasi stated: “I cannot stop my kids from studying, I am only following my faith. If they chose to stop going to school then it will be their choice.”

She was, however, not apologetic for her beliefs and faulted the government for introducing the new curriculum.

Ms Manyasi maintained that the newly introduced Nemis system was being used to introduce children to demonic activities.

Commenting on the issue her husband said that his wife's beliefs changed once she moved to the new church in Makongeni called Kanisa La Yesu.

She attends a church that we also don’t understand. I think it is a church that believes in some sort of spirits,” George Ouma told journalists.
