The bodyguard was hit by unknown gunmen who fled the scene after the incident.

He was the the driver of State House Administrative Secretary John Makumi

According to emerging reports, the incident happened in Ruai where he was going to pick his boss.

The officer was badly injured and is currently admitted to a Nairobi hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

A report by the Star indicated that the gang of four men had robbed two M-pesa shops in Kayole around Sh 100,000 before attacking the AP.

They wanted to steal the Mercedes Benz he was driving but he resisted, leading to the shooting.
